Eligability

Nominees for the ASVO Viticulturist of the Year;

  • typically work in the following roles;
    viticulturists, vineyard managers, viticultural technical officers, viticultural consultants, and other similar roles. 
  • Non members may apply
  • the nominees’ activities for which they are being nominated must have occurred within Australia.

Judging methodology

The ASVO Awards for Excellence are judged by some of Australia’s most experienced experts and practitioners — handpicked because of their objectivity and commitment to best practice. Each award entry will be judged against set criteria that recognises factors such as excellence in practice, significant achievements, professional development, best practice, as well as adhering to the ASVO values.

•    Judging period: July
•    Nominees notified: August
•    Awards presentation night: Thursday, 13 November 2025

Steps to nominate

Once you’ve confirmed you meet the entry criteria, follow these steps to complete your nomination:

  • Step 1: Decide which category you would like to nominate in.
  • Step 2: Make sure you read the ASVO Awards Nomination Guidlines before submiting your nomination
  • Step 3: Prepare your answers to each question (all questions are listed in the nomination guidlines ) and collate your supporting documents. We suggest you do this before you start the online form.
  • Step 4: Complete the online form or upload your nomination and submit. You are encouraged to upload supporting documents such as case studies and testimonials as appropriate.
