Mr Adriaan Foot
About Me
Adriaan holds the position of senior winemaker at Stanton and Killeen in Rutherglen, Victoria.
Originally hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch University in 2007, after which he worked as a winemaker in the South African wine industry for several years.
The lure of experiencing a vintage at one of the world's most esteemed wineries in California's Napa Valley set him on the path of itinerant winemaker, and several vintages followed in Australia, New Zealand and California again, including a stint as a consulting winemaker in India. Adriaan then settled in the Great Southern region of WA in 2019 where he spent 4 vintages working with some of the finest cool climate fruit in the region. He joined the S&K team in 2023, who are renowned for producing some of the finest fortifieds and Portuguese variety table wines in Australia.
Adriaan has completed the AWRI's intensive Advanced Wine Assessment Course and has judged at several regional and capital city wine shows both in South Africa and Australia
