ASVO 2021 Awards for Excellence
This years ASVO Awards for Excellence took place virtually on Wednesday November 17, 2021. The awards, hosted by Brooke Howell, ASVO president and Dr Alana Seabrook, Regional Director - SA guiding proceedings, were streamed on YouTube and currently have 292 views (and counting).
The awards span four broad categories – Inspiring Excellence with the announcement of the 2021 scholarship winners, Research Excellence with three Awards, Dr Peter May Award, Viticulture Paper of the year and Oenology Paper of the year, and two awards for Professional Excellence, being Viticulturist and Winemaker of the Year. The evening concluded by recognising members who were deemed worthy to receive the highest accolade being invited to become a Fellow of the Society.
The ASVO invited those tuning in at home to post a photo to their various social media accounts of them celebrating the awards. They were encouraged to use the hashtag #ASVOAwards and tag the ASVO in their posts. Doing so won them a bottle of bubbles to celebrate!
