Overview

The ASVO offers financial support to assist students to attend ASVO events. The aims of the Student bursary are to provide opportunities for engagement with other students and  to connect with the wine sector through providing bursaries to attend key seminars within the sector.
A total bursary of $2,000 (at a cap of $200 per person) is available to student delegates.

To be eligible for this financial support, student delegates must:
•        Be a current ASVO member
•        Have registered to attend the conference
•        Be willing to present their experience at a future ASVO event
•        Not be in receipt of funding to attend the conference from their university or workplace

Selection

Winning applications are chosen by a review panel constituted by the ASVO Awards subcommittee, based on the scholarly quality of the applicants’ bursary applications as well as the committee's intention to choose applications that represent a diverse applicant pool. The panel may also request additional documentation to support the application or prove eligibility, when necessary.
The committee will attempt to recruit a diverse pool of applicants for bursaries to ensure a wide representation across diversity parameters as they are exemplified above. In selecting winners, the committee shall keep in mind the desirability of ensuring diversity in opinion, experience and representation.
